>> Off-Grid systems
Off-Grid systems are mostly used in applications where no public grid is available yet, the public grid not guarantees a 100% security of electricity supply or a connection to the public power grid would lead to higher or comparable costs. Therefore Off-Grid systems are used to supply remote buildings, mountain huts and weekend homes. Also independently powered telecommunication masts, highway lighting, boats, parking meters and construction site lighting are application areas.
Very important is the supply of villages and settlements in developing countries. Of particular concern for Energy Solutions AUTARK is ensuring electrical power in African and other developing countries. The electricity generated is cached in energy storage systems or f.e. directly consumed by solar water pumps. If the electricity power is stored it will come to a loss in a range of 10% to 35% of the stored energy. If alternating current (AC) consumers have to be supplied by the Off-Grid grid systems the electricity power generated by the Off-Grid systems must be converted by an inverter into direct current (DC).
Stand-alone systems and components have to fulfill with special quality requirements. Therefore AUTARK Energy Solutions only selects high quality products such as Studer, Steca, KSB, Lorentz, Varta and Hoppecke to ensure a reliable power supply even under extreme geographical and climatic conditions.
>> Lay Out/Planning of Off-Grid Power Plants
Due to the very different conditions for each Off-Grid system universal Off-Grid systems are very difficult to be designed. To design the solar power system or Off-Grid system it is first necessary to determine the need of energy. As the amount of radiation available in winter time is significantly (about a factor of 10) smaller, it is necessary to consider the energy consumption for each month separately. For each request, it is necessary to fill in the Questionnaire available in the download section and attach it to the request.
